Asian Agri Finally Willing Doing Payment

12:30 AM

Indobusiness - Asian Agri finally willing to pay the tax assessments (SKP) issued by the Directorate General of Taxation on 14 companies in the Asian Agri Group. However, the Asian Agri Group General Manager Freddy Widjaja asserted, fourteenth the company will file an objection according to regulations for the sake of justice.

"SKP issued by the tax authorities based on a Supreme Court ruling on the case of Mr. shredded Sea, where Asian Agri is not a party and was never charged and never given a chance to defend himself. Nevertheless, we still adhere to the laws and regulations that apply to make payments on this day, "said Freddy role in a press release received Kompas.com, Thursday (06/20/2013).

Freddy said, Asian Agri tax period at issue, namely 2002-2005, has been carrying out its obligation to submit an annual notification letter (SPT) and pay taxes, even the Asian Agri Group is one of the major taxpayers in the oil palm industry.

Asian Agri is still questioning the determination of the amount of Rp 1.25 trillion tax deficiencies issued. Because the number exceeds the total profits of the 14 companies in the Asian Agri Group in the period 2002-2005 is only Rp 1.24 trillion. Not to mention the added tax penalties are imposed, then a total of Rp 4.4 trillion.

"There is no country anywhere in the world who collect taxes worth more than 100 percent of corporate profits," said Freddy.

Freddy expect this problem to be kept in perspective. "Opinions can result in disproportionate adverse impact on our company, which until now has 29,000 foster family farmers and non-farmers partner with 25,000," he added.
