This penalty is the impact of the European Emissions Trading System or the Emissions Trading System (ETS) designed to minimize carbon dioxide pollution that lead to global warming.
Quoted by news agency AFP on Friday (05/17/2013), the ETS rules actually have a protest from the United States and China. The consideration is not in harmony with the principles of international law.
When protests arose, in fact Brussels (EU Commission headquarters) the delay ETS for airlines are non-European. In fact, the solution will be negotiated in September 2013 in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
But on this Friday, apparently non-European airlines still have to pay the scheme. Eight Chinese airlines finally, ordered to pay a total fine of 2.4 million euros, while two Indian airline must pay a total fine of 30,000 euros.
