BII Earnings Jump 81%, Translucent Rp1, 2 trillion in 2012

Jakarta - PT Bank International Indonesia Tbk (BII) earned a net profit of Rp 1.2 trillion in the year 2012. This figure is up by 81% from the previous year's net profit. The increase in net income is supported by the increase in profit before tax also increased significantly by 72% to USD 1.7 billion compared to the same period the previous year amounting to Rp 985 billion.

President Director of BII, Dato 'Ramli said Khairussaleh, improved performance was mainly supported by strong growth in the company's overall core business such as deposits, improving the overall quality of the assets, including subsidiaries and continuous improvement of the overall bank operations. He said the company recorded strong growth of 20% throughout the year 2012 from Rp 67.2 trillion to Rp 80.9 trillion. SME loans recorded the highest growth of 41% from Rp 16.4 trillion to Rp 23.1 trillion. Corporate loans grew 24% to Rp 21.6 trillion, commercial grew 1% to Rp 8 trillion, consumers grew 11% to Rp 27.8 trillion. "The consumer, two-wheeler financing portfolio fell 11% to USD 8.8 billion primarily due to the impact of new regulations loan to value (LTV)," he said.

However, he said, the company recorded a growth of almost 100% in the four-wheeled vehicle portfolio in line with the success of the company's portfolio balance between business four-wheeled vehicles and motorcycles.
